**Sawasdee Ka!**

So, we continue with an extension of our Thailand series, which we will share some of our memorable dining experiences and favourite eating places in this beautiful Land of Smiles from our recent 4 days “jalan-jalan cari makan” trip in Bangkok. If you love Thai food and food hunting, so this post is for you!

So, here's the list of our favourite eateries spots in town during our recent visit to Bangkok in January 2018:
**Also, be sure that we will continue to update the growing list of new eating places on our next/future visits.

#1. Pe Aor Lobster Tomyum Noodles
Address: 68/51 Soi Petchaburi 5, Between Soi 5 – 7, Phaya Thai, Ratchathewi, Bangkok
Telephone / Website (if any): +66 (0) 2612 9013
Operating Hours: 10am – 9pm (Tuesday to Sunday), Closed on Monday
Directions/Getting There: Take BTS sky train (Sukhumvit Line) to Ratchathewi Station, Exit 3. At the junction, turn left and walk along Phetcaburi Road for 5 minutes then turn right into Phetcaburi 7 Alley and keep left. You’ll be able to locate the shop after a few minutes’ walk.
Highly Recommendable: Fresh water prawn tomyum noodles, Lobster and the gang tomyum noodles, crispy fried salmon, fried mixed crab meat wrapped with tofu skin
Description: Honestly, locating this restaurant wasn’t easy. We’ve done our research beforehand on this restaurant and yet we still got lost. Offering tasty and affordable Thai fare, Pe Aor is a “fast-casual” eatery located in the heart of bustling Bangkok. Favourite dishes are their fresh water prawn tomyum noodles, lobster and the gang tomyum noodles and fried mixed crab meat wrapped with tofu skin. Portions are available in S, M, L and XL, with L being a good size to feed two hungry people like us. The bigger and more expensive portions (like the one in the pictures), will cost you around THB1200 (around MYR140). Soaked with tomyum goong, the dish comes with crab stuffed with minced meat and roe, a medium-sized lobster, mussels, salmon, sotong stuffed with minced meat, an onsen egg and noodles of your choice. When tasted, the soup (goong) brings on a meaty savoury, sweet yet aromatic with their distinctive selection of herbs and spices. A MUST TRY! Also, you can’t go wrong with their popular side dishes like fried mixed crab meat wrapped with tofu skin and crispy fried salmon. We also highly recommend ordering a glass of Thai lemon grass pandan juice that will help with that belly-fire!
Price: 60 – 1200 Baht / bowl (S - 699 Baht (300g lobster), M - 999 Baht (500g lobster) L - 1200 Baht (800g lobster)
**Tips: Do be prepared to queue if you intend to come here during peak hours
This has to be the most expensive tomyum goong I've tasted so far
Time to put your belly on fire. Check out the ingredients inside the bowl
Famous tomyum goong served together with fresh prawns

Walk to Siam Square. The Restaurant is just a lane down from BTS Siam Station, right opposite Novotel Bangkok
Highly Recommendable: Tomyum Goong, Shrimp Cake, Chicken Panang, Baked Rice in Pineapple, Stir-Fried Chicken with Cashew Nut
Description: This charming restaurant in Bangkok enclave specializes in authentic Thai
cuisine served in a cosy setting. The extensive menu showcases a selection of Thai authentic dishes such as tomyum goong, baked prawn with glass noodles, steamed snapper with lime, chicken panang  as well as desserts like sticky rice with ripe mango and crispy water chestnut in coconut milk with ice. Décor is unfussy and minimalist with dark wood shelves stocked with wines and old framed photos. The tunes of traditional Thai music played lively everyday in the restaurant enhanced the overall ambience too. On our visit, we opted for tomyum goong, shrimp cake and baked rice in pineapple. Ingredients are fresh and prettily presented. The tomyum goong here are good with generous portions of fresh prawns and mushrooms. The baked rice in pineapple is also highly recommended. It proved to be a good choice if you looking for a decent yet affordable Thai meal at Bangkok. Ban Khun Mae prides itself on serving Thai cuisine with laid-back atmosphere by experienced staff members for over a decade. We left Ban Khun Mae with satisfied stomachs.
Price: 120 – 350 Baht onwards / dish
**Tips: This busy neighbourhood restaurant requires a reservation, especially during peak hours. Be prepared to queue if you intend to come here during (lunch/dinner) hours
Their fiery red tomyum goong is highly recommendable. One of the best I've tasted so far!

This dish is delighted with the combination of its crispy deep-fried snapper and its signature sweet fish sauce, resulting in the unique and amazingly yummy! The stir-fried “curry crab” at Savoey is a must-try dish. This classic Thai dish gains international popularity for its unique, superb taste. With its gigantic fried crab (which is based on market price), well-cooked with the special curry sauce made of curry paste, coconut milk, eggs and spices, this special dish is definitely a “world class” dish and the taste is definitely guaranteed to be delicious! And finally, wash everything down with their signature Thai pandanus juice after your meal! The masterful cooking in Savoey is paired with a serene and contemporary modern atmosphere. Our Best Eats in Bangkok - A Travel Guide for Food Lover

**Sawasdee Krab/Ka!**

We’ve been to Bangkok (Krung Tep) many times, exploring and discovering all sorts of amazing things in Bangkok has to offer. We’ll be posting about our past travel adventures in Bangkok and Ayuthaya soon (hopefully), so we thought we’d neatly organise them by putting up a post solely on food (restaurants/eateries recommendation, what and how to order).

After returning from any trips, we often reflect, browse through our photos and realise that by far the most memorable experiences we had all revolved around food. Being a food obsessed individual; we often grab our spoons and explore every little corner whenever we travel! While walking the sidewalk near to the BTS stations around Bangkok, we were blasted with irresistible aromas from either a street stall or from the restaurants nearby.

So, we continue with an extension of our Thailand series, which we will share some of our memorable dining experiences and favourite eating places in this beautiful Land of Smiles. If you love Thai food and food hunting, so this post is for you!

So, here's the list of our favourite eateries spots in town  during our recent visit to Bangkok: **Also, be sure that we will continue to update the growing list of new eating places on our next/future visits.

Description: Thong Lo Street Food Night Market located at Sukhumvit Soi 38  is definitely a place not to be missed when you’re in Bangkok. We found this place back in 2010 (during one of Chengy’s working trip to Bangkok). This place offers a great initiation into Thai street food. Located just a few steps from Thong Lo BTS station, the food here is tasty, cheap and arrives quickly. Most stall menus are in English making it easy to make your choice. Their Rolled Rice Noodle in Herb Soup with Pork and Boiled Egg is our all-time favourite, the standard is definitely good enough to rival if not surpass the good ones we have in Penang. Besides the rolled rice noodles, don’t miss their Rice with Stewed Pork Limb / Knuckle which is tenderly cooked and melt-in-your-mouth. The Thai Noodle Sweet Dessert, an ice-cold concoction of rich coconut milk, red beans, diced water-chestnuts and tri-colour Thai noodles with palm syrup is definitely a must-try. You’ll be begging for more! Overall, we had a ton of fun trying many local foods here. We think it’s still a great place for tourist to quickly gain exposure to the many different types of Thai food in Bangkok.
