Small World Travels to EUROPE. 16D15N Travel Itinerary in UK (London), France (Paris), Switzerland, Austria, Germany & Netherlands (Part 2 Paris)

We finally booked the tickets for our Europe trip and went for our dream vacation for 16 days! And its our 7th wedding anniversary trip! :) Honestly, planning a long trip can be a daunting task. There is just too much information available via online platforms. But one question that comes up frequently was “How do we put this all together? Tell us where and how to start.” And our next question was, “How much does it cost to travel to six countries in Europe?” With all these information and readings that we’ve gathered for our trip, we would like to help our readers as much as we can and that’s why we are posting our six countries (UK (London), France (Paris), Switzerland, Austria, Germany & Netherlands) 16D15N travel itinerary on budget here.

Honestly, for this trip we spent around MYR9XXX/person (including return flight tickets and accommodation). All the trains and accommodation booking were pre-booked 3-4 months in advance. Our budget wasn’t very impressive, so this trip definitely belongs to the “budget travelers”.

Before we book the flight tickets, we’ve decided that the best starting point would be London (UK) since the flight tickets from Penang → Singapore → London was quite reasonable for both of us. For independent travelers who don’t like to use local travel agents, and prefer to plan your own itinerary like us, this post is for you.

So, we assigned 3 days for Paris. We bought the speed train ticket (Eurostar) which took us to Paris from London within just 3 hour 16 minutes. Upon arrival, we used Uber app to book our airport pickup (since we have a total of 7 luggages with us) – it was so easy and convenient. The driver picked us up at the door of our arrival terminal.

The Eiffel Tower is Paris most famous landmark
Paris Gare du Nord train station connects Paris to other international cities
In Paris, we also booked a home-stay via Airbnb. It was a unit of studio in a huge shared flat with a central location (Rue César Franck, Paris, Île-de-France), 5 minutes’ walk to Sévres Lecourbe (metro line 6). The host, Sylvain Et Dalila were great: a very friendly lady, prepared us French breakfast daily and spoke perfect English. And the room price was also more than great (MYR181.60 per person for one night).
The Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, is the most visited monument in France

Awesome content
We headed out to explore around 3pm and our first stop in Paris was Notre Dame Cathedral. The cathedral was beautiful and incredibly mesmerizing in person. There was a procession that took place on that day outside of the cathedral, followed by a mass. There were huge crowds of people. After visiting the cathedral, we had our dinner nearby Rue du Petit Pont (10 minutes’ walk from Notre-Dame Cathedral). Later in the evening, we headed to the Louvre to get some amazing shots at an empty Louvre via Uber and Paris night view.

On the second day, the first stop was the most iconic piece of Paris, the Eiffel Tower.  After enjoying the yummy complimentary breakfast prepared by our host, we took the metro from Sèvres Lecourbe → Trocadero (direction towards Charles de Gaulle Etoile) over to the Trocadero so we could see the Eiffel Tower and had our anniversary photoshoot with Airbnb Photographer Richard. I was a little worried it would be difficult to take pictures with so many tourists, but the whole area was really huge. We spent more than an hour there and headed straight to Pont d’léna and Quai Branly for another Eiffel Tower view after that.
The majestic Arc de Triomphe lies at the end of the Champs-Elysees
Classic Paris -The Arc de Triomphe
The sculptures of Le Depart de 1792 aka La Marseillaise on the facade of Arc de Triomphe, in Paris, France "La Marseillaise” is the national anthem of France, was a revolutionary song, an anthem to freedom, a patriotic call to mobilize all the citizens and an exhortation to fight against tyranny and foreign invasion
French architecture ranks high among France's many accomplishments
The Louvre Palace is a former royal place and was used from time to time by the Kings of France as their main Paris residence
The Louvre Palace and the famous pyramid
While our second didn’t seem busy, we did a lot! We also visited Arc de Triomphe, Carrousel Arc de Triomphe and stroll around Champs Élysées for shopping (and window shopping of course)! Here you’ll find every luxury designer store from Louis Vuitton to Dior, Longchamp and Cartier.

The Champs Élysées shopping street is just located near to the famous monument, Arc de Triomphe! To get there, you just need to cross the street and take a photo. Just be on the lookout for cars on each side of the road!

After that we visited Musée du Louvre. The walk around the museum was filled with nature and beauty. However, the museum was super packed like sardines! After we’re done with the museum, we did our final groceries shopping at Franprix followed by a light dinner at Le Louchebem (French Restaurant) around Rue Berger area.

Go at night :)
Sparkling Eiffel Tower
We also spent our final night at the Eiffel Tower since it was quite close to our homestay. You can’t leave Paris without witnessing the sparkling lights of this iconic monument at night! You’ll be able to witness a special moment when seeing the beautiful tower sparkle in the night. We truly enjoyed this view for a few moments, our own private moment in our memory! Love je t'aime!
